CFP: Panel on Comics at the Louisville Conference on Literature & Culture Since 1900 (Sept 9; Feb 20-22)
CFP
for a
Panel on Comics
at the Louisville Conference on Literature & Culture Since 1900
The 42nd annual Louisville Conference on Literature
& Culture Since 1900 will be held at the University of Louisville, February
20-22, 2014. The Conference is generally made up of presentations of
critical papers on topics that address literary works published since 1900,
and/or their relationship with other Arts and disciplines (film, journalism,
opera, music, pop culture, painting, architecture, law, etc).
For the 2014 conference I would like to organize a
panel (or panels) with a focus on the intersections of comics and literature.
To that end, I invite proposals on a wide range of topics, and drawing on various
disciplines and methodologies, that deal with comics and the literary in broad
terms.
Please send proposals for a 20-minute presentation
to bpostema@ryerson.ca by Monday September 9, 2013.
Submissions should include a 300-word abstract (preferably in doc
format) and a cover page according to the conference’s specifications. Submitter's
cover page is to include:
- Name (as it will appear in the program)
- Address (preferably home address)
- E-mail address (necessary to confirm your acceptance)
- Telephone number
- Academic affiliation (if applicable)
- Title of paper/work (as it will appear in the program)
- National origin/genre of work discussed (please be specific)
- Personal biographical note (100-150 words)
