Mix 2012: Comics Symposium

Location: CCAD Campus

A celebration of and investigation into the art of the comic book, Mix 2012 includes a symposium with roundtables and workshops, a comic-book-creation marathon for teams of college & university students, and an exhibition of the work resulting from the marathon.

Calls for Proposals

CCAD is currently accepting calls for proposals for papers, roundtables, and workshops. Proposals are due July 6, 2012. A full description of the panels and instructions for submitting a proposal can be found in the call for proposals pdf.

Instructions for registering student teams for the comics marathon will be available soon.

Exact times and campus locations for all symposium events as well as registration fees and information will be available soon.

This academic conference at the University of Copenhagen is presented in collaboration with Copenhagen's comics biennial, the international comics festival komiks.dk in Øksnehallen, Copenhagen, 22-23 May.

The conference presents papers from 12 international comics scholars on a diverse range of subjects in contemporaray comics, features a keynote from Canadian scholar Jacques Samson, and a special appearance by cartoonist Chris Ware (Jimmy Corrigan), in conversation with British expert on comics Paul Gravett
